The modern company was founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of Corporation Kindzmarauli, but its heritage traces back to 1737 through the historic Konchoshvili family wine cellar. The name “Koncho” comes from an Old Georgian word meaning “cross” and is linked to the Konchoshvili family.
Focus on Georgian grape varieties The winery emphasizes indigenous Georgian grapes such as Saperavi, Kisi, Rkatsiteli, Khikhvi, Mtsvane, and rare local varieties. Part of its mission is to preserve and revive endangered native grapes.
