Description
Nestled in the south downs just above Brighton, in the shadow of the Devil’s Dyke, Poynings Grange is a beautiful vineyard using minimal intervention in the production of some superlative wines. First planted in 2010 this 6 acre vineyard is owned and run by Rupert and Esme Crowther. They grow the classic three grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for Sparkling Wines as well as Bacchus for still.
Richly textured and drinking beautifully, this Sussex Blanc de Blancs is full of a crisp acidity and apple fruit with rich toasted brioche notes from the 100% estate grown chardonnay presant but not dominant. This is a lovely fresh and complex wine with impressive texture and length. A great example of the English winemakers art.
