Domaine Foncastel Picpoul de Pinet

Picpoul de Pinet is a small appellation near France’s Mediterranean coast and is a great, crisp, fresh alternative to the ubiquitous Sauvignon Blanc. Foncastel Picpoul-de-Pinet is a light-medium bodied white wine and a great example of a classic Picpoul de Pinet. The winemaking team leave the wine sitting on its yeast for an extended period to give more body, complexity and texture to the wine. The result is a wine that is light clean and fresh, bright minerality notes in both the nose and mouth. The palate is dominated by melon and citrus flavours and a zesty acidity that makes this wine easy drinking and approachable keeping you coming back for more. Works brilliantly with seafood and shellfish as its flavours neutralize the iodine and salt in them. However the wine is also works well with rich cheese, charcuterie and even chocolate.
